Meet the Pack: Wilson

We treat every member of #sLthePack like family - and like every member of your human family, each of our family members has a very unique (read: big) personality. Since each member is an integral part of the Southern Labradoodles process, whether as a breeding dog or a mentor, we felt it was important to introduce you to them.

Meet Wilson, a happy-go-lucky Australian Labradoodle living the best life (objectively) in Austin, TX. He was born in Portland, Oregon in January 2017, and was one of ten puppies. He was welcomed into the Southern Labradoodle Family to be both a support dog and sire. He's great at supporting (and guarding the yard), but is still working on charming the (non-human) ladies.

He and his “mom,” Makenzi, are inseparable, rarely spending more than 2 hours apart at a time. Knowing that they’d spend most of their time together, Makenzi was intentional about his socialization to public places and other dogs. Wilson was introduced to travel at eight weeks, and continued to travel consistently as a puppy. Frequency, combined with positive experiences (created by preparation), fostered a happy traveler. To date, Wilson has been coast to coast and thoroughly enjoys an airport experiene. Wilson was also introduced to a variety of public settings - coffee shops, restaurants, malls, office-settings, apartment buildings - at an early age, so he feels comfortable in crowded spaces and thrives at happy hours.

When not traveling or hitting the town, Wilson goes to work with Makenzi - whether it’s a client meeting or a photoshoot. He’s become particularly skilled at lifestyle photography, and has appeared in The Scout Guide Austin, HOTELette media, bthere campaigns and print ads. He enjoys fetch, chasing squirrels, playing with Gracie and guarding his yard.

Currently, he’s training for a 5k, but is more committed to smellimg all the smells than hitting a goal time. However, Wilson makes up for being a bad running partner with ear kisses and big smiles.

He weighs in around 38 pounds, has light apricot coloring and a liver nose.
