Our Socialization program

Our family is enthusiastic about raising happy, healthy miniature Australian Labradoodles, therefore we go above and beyond the typical socialization process. In our experience, most early socialization occurs through the day-to-day activities of the breeder's home. However, we have chosen to be more intentional about our socialization process to raise better-adjusted, more relaxed, confident miniature Australian Labradoodles. 

In our attempt to raise intelligent puppies that are comfortable in diverse sets of experiences, we began working with our favorite certified dog trainer, Cindi Smasal. With her help, we developed a program for our puppies based on each stage of their development. Ultimately, we are confident that this will ameliorate 80-90% of typical behavioral problems dogs may develop (i.e. separation anxiety), as well as contribute to a life-long happy, relaxed disposition. 

Cyndi Smasal is the founder and "Chief Dog Lover"of Pawtastic Pet Solutions and a professional member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers with an extensive background in dogs, training, socialization, nutrition and pet care. Prior to becoming a dog trainer, Cyndi's love for her dog, Norman, compelled her to become an expert on and author of two books on canine nutrition and pet care. Over the past fifteen years, Cyndi has been delighted to help thousands of pet parents through her books, as well as in-home consultations. 

After working with her to train all of the Southern Labradoodles pack, we brought her on to the team as Southern Labradoodles' own certified Positive Reinforcement Dog Trainer and Nutritionist. In addition to designing our dam's pregnancy/postpartum diet and training all of our pack, she has worked with over three hundred dogs and families both in puppy class workshops and in-home private lessons. 

Using her past experience, Cyndi has designed an extensive puppy socialization program starting at three weeks of age when the puppies gain their sight, hearing and increased mobility. The program exceeds that of typical socialization processes to raise the happiest, most relaxed dogs. 

We are thrilled to have her working with our puppies throughout the early socialization period. Together we will do everything we can to make sure our puppies have the best start possible.
